This week’s Quick Tip looks at how to search for a listed item in a drop down menu using the items ID number or text description.
For example, if we look at the Part Master screen and click on the **Part Number drop down menu you will see that there is a long list of items. There are two ways you can filter through the menu instead of endless scrolling to find the item you are looking for.
The first method is to start typing in the Part Number you are looking for. Since OnRamp’s search function is intuitive, when you start typing in the number, the search will automatically refine itself.
The second method is to search by name. You can do this by clicking the grey column label box. You will notice that the blank field above has changed color from grey to white. If you know the name of the part or a partial name, OnRamps intuitive search will filter the results.
You can also change the ascending or descending order of the list by clicking one the triangle next to the column description.
Note: Drop down menu search is only available when you are in Browse mode.
