Have you ever noticed the two asterisks next to the name of a field and wondered what they are for? The double asterisk are used to indicate that the data required for the field is mandatory. The completion of any data entry will not be possible if the information has not been selected or input.
For example, on the Part Master [S1009] screen when you are adding a new part, you will see that the **Saleable field is highlighted red and has a double asterisk. When you click on the field you will see a message in the bottom left corner indicating that “Saleable is Required”.
There are also some fields with a double asterisk that are already pre-populated with data. If you clear the existing data you will see a message appear in the bottom left corner that the field is mandatory and requires selecting or inputting data.
